Another domino falls at the White House

#41

I’m saying that he wasn’t in a sensitive compartmental information facility but the presidents secretary, and enforcer for the COS. He controlled the flow of paper to the presidents desk and as such handled classified information.

Proof !
A good job dancing around the subject of Proof ! Yawn !!!

#43

How many times would you like for me to lay this before you??

Rob Porter, who resigned from his White House job following allegations that he abused his two ex-wives, held an interim security clearance while working as President Donald Trump’s staff secretary.

More smoke and mirrors from the lib’s !!!
The administration did what they were required to do in this case . They were awaiting the FBI report in this mater !
NO CRIME NO FOUL ! Yawn
Dozens of White House employees are awaiting permanent security clearances and have been working for months with temporary approvals to handle sensitive information while the FBI continues to probe their backgrounds, according to U.S. officials.
National security lawyer Mark Zaid, who represents government employees going through the security-clearance process, said it is not necessarily sinister that dozens of White House employees lack clearance. He said the Trump White House, in particular, might be going through the clearance process slowly because those working there have not previously been in government and their extensive foreign and business ties take additional time to explore. Zaid said people often operate with interim clearances for months.

Of Porter, Zaid said the accusations he faces — while “abhorrent” — might not be automatically disqualifying if he put forth evidence to rebut or mitigate them that the FBI would then have to examine. He also noted that the clearance process is intentionally shrouded in secrecy. FBI agents communicate their findings to the White House Security Office, which determines whether a person should get a clearance. No one else should be told what the FBI has found — save for the employee in question, who would normally be given a chance to step aside rather than face rejection.

So… do you KNOW precisely what paper he handled? Do you KNOW that he wasn’t given different assignments while his clearance was in a temporary status? My guess is that you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT KNOW.

What more would you have the administration do ?

#47

Not true, Ghan and Kelly were both aware of Porters history of wife beating. The big problem is that they did nothing, allowed him to stay on until it was revealed in the newspapers. So again, if not for the good work of the MSM, that wife beater would still be in our White House.

#49

Correct. He wasn’t located in a SCIF because he didn’t have a clearance and wouldn’t have been on the controlled access roster.

Classified information is only viewed or transmitted in SCIFs. So, that information would not have hit the President’s desk in the Oval Office. I’m sure thousands of other documents did, but not classified ones. That’s not how it works.

#50

According to former White House staff secretaries they do in fact handle classified materials.

“I think it’s impossible to do this job well without security clearance,” Lisa Brown, a former staff secretary in the Obama administration and the current general counsel and a vice president at Georgetown University, told me. “Maybe 20 percent of what goes through the office [would be] classified, if the office [were] structured the way it was in the Obama and Bush administrations.”
“[Virtually] every piece of paper that goes to the president goes through the office,” she added. That includes “a lot” of classified material.

#51

The point here appears to be a couple of things… 1) was he an national security risk. 2)was he inappropriate for the job based on some social standard?

The FBI cleared him on a temporary basis to do the job… so in the eyes of those who cleared him for that level of work, they saw no overarching nationals security risk with his background that was KNOWN to the people who gave him the clearance.

As for the objectionable conduct, we can talk about that… but one does not, in this case, equal the other. It is an anti trump play… it is a social justice play… its a #metoo play for things that did not occur during his time in the White House and it is little different than the poor black skater that didn’t get to carry the flag in the Olymipics…

Even Biden didn’t feel particularly compelled to comment on and security implications… Of course coming out of the Obama White House, it is possible that really wasn’t a second thought in their operations either… well… at least until they start getting caught.

#52

The FBI does the back ground investigation and then provides the White House with their findings. It’s up to the White House to hire or not.

#53

I am wasting my time providing YOU with information that substantiates my points !
The FBI hasn’t completed their investigation as of yet !

#54

The FBI has not reached a conclusion on the investigation !
There was no proof and to date the is no proof .
It appears to be a moot point as Mr Porter has resigned !

#55

So his wives (including the one with a photo of her black eye) and his girlfriend are all lying hmm?? For what, what advantage.:roll_eyes: McGhan and Kelly knew for months that Porter was a wife beater and had a TRO on him. The dude didn’t belong in our White House and thanks to some good reporting in the MSM we found out what McGhan and Kelly were hiding and the bastard is history.

#56

The question, exactly how did that affect the job in the WH???

Oh wait, it had nothing to do with the job he did in the WH.

#57

Ever have a vindictive ex wife??

If not you would never understand.

It would seem that security clearance issues haven’t been a problem for democrats in the past…

By Ann Devroy March 14, 1994
White House officials now say that more than 100 staff members – at least one of them with routine access to classified material – have failed to obtain government security clearances, mostly because of “procrastination.”

White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers is among what she said are about 10 percent of the 1,044 White House staff members who have not completed the FBI clearance process that produces the first level of clearance for access to classified material. Myers said she has routine access to secret material.

The White House would not identify others who have access to such material without security clearances and would not say how many of the 100-plus staff members who have not concluded the FBI clearance process are newer – or longtime – employees.

Lawmakers and congressional insiders continue to raise questions about a senior Obama administration official and proponent of its Iran diplomacy following revelations he was denied interim security clearance before being given a senior role in the White House, according to conversations with multiple sources.

Other than somebody saying, well the democrats have done it too, the FBI has told the White House that Porter was a wife beater and he’s had a PO/TRO placed on him by one wife, as well as a girlfriend subsequent to the wives claim he is abusive. But just like McGhan and Kelly, you guys want to excuse him, blame the victims of abuse once again. Complete pathetic and hypocritical partisan trumpian way of treatment of women. One poster even suggested that women are generally lucky that they’re not regularly walking around with black eyes. This is what we get in America when a fat piece of shit chauvinist is in the White House with his base minions running around attempting to protect him.
