Repeating you??? More like agreeing with you on the matter of goods that I buy. We have very little choice in America as we have very little American mfg to purchase from, shrug…
As to Carter, yes a good man indeed and the only president in my lifetime that actually lived, before, during and after his presidency according to his faith, though all presidents profess.
Carter was forward looking and ahead of his time. Taking on the dirty fossil fuel industry is an extremely heavy lift even now, let alone when he was attempting it 40 years ago. People seem not to comprehend that besides the polluting nature of fossil fuel, no matter how much remains in the ground, there is a bottom to that barrel.
It was the opening of China and the market of CHEAP labor that was the chief driving force in mfg abroad. Even better when on a trip to India in the early 80’s the CEO of GE realized that here was a country with 700 million people that work cheap and as an added bonus, largely speak English!!!
DJT is misrepresenting the facts each time he speaks of the corporate tax rate. What he fails to mention is the effective tax rate, which is what corporations actually pay. I own a corporation and have never paid 35%!! The effective tax rate puts American businesses squarely in competition with foreign corporations.
