An interesting phrase that I heard a long time ago about prohibition that just sort of stuck in my mind is that women in unison raised their picket signs to force prohibition into law and then when they saw the results, they raised their skirts to see it out…

Just a worthless bit of junk that still floats around my mind… :v:

What I like about the history of prohibition is that it proves government involvement in personal consumer consumption decisions always spells disaster. It didn’t do anything to stop the flow of alcohol but it did eliminate the government’s ability to tax it.

And brought with it a lot of crime and criminals.
